Website Content?

Notice the question mark in the title to this post?

It’s there to make a point. “Content” is a word that is overused and under-defined in our business. So let’s fix that.

Technically, it’s the stuff – the written words and images – the contents of a piece published on a website or blog. We’re creating content as we type this.

Here’s the thing…

Anybody can create content but, to be worth the trouble, it’s got to be clearly written, interesting if not outright entertaining, educational at some level and compelling. It’s as if you’re a chef and your goal is to create a dish that looks good, tastes great, is good for your guests and, when they’re done eating it, leaves a delicious lingering taste and that keeps them talking about what they just ate all the way home. And has them recommending your restaurant to their friends.

Now you’ve learned two things about us. One is that we pay a lot of attention to what we write for our clients. Large job or small, we care a great deal about the quality and effectiveness of our product and work hard to make sure it accomplishes our client’s objectives. The other thing is more of a rule that we are forever breaking. As you can see from the analogy we used in the previous paragraph, it’s never a good idea to go grocery shopping or write a post while you’re hungry.

So we’re going to stop writing now and head out to the kitchen.

Before we go, thanks for stopping by. Send us an email or give us a call if you need any content. Maybe even something you’ve already written. We’ll take a look and get back to you quickly.

We’re affordable and, in anticipation of a continuing relationship, we’ll sometimes do a first piece for new clients “on spec,” that is, for free. Use it. Don’t use it. It’s our chance to show you what we can we can do, to demonstrate the difference Writeaway will make for your website.

How ’bout them apples? …And there’s another reference to food. Talk to you later.

Feel free to take a look around our website before you go.
